Your Local, Top-Rated Choice for Dryer Vent Cleaning

What Happens During a Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning?

What to expect during a visit, and what can affect how long it takes.

We confirm the cleaning package, move the dryer and disconnect the exhaust duct as needed and where safely accessible, take a starting airflow reading, inspect accessible portions of the vent with a camera, and clean the vent with brush and vacuum tools. Then we reconnect the exhaust duct, run the dryer, measure airflow again, and review the before-and-after readings with you.

1. Confirm the vent and the price

We look at where the dryer sits and where the vent exits, then confirm which cleaning package applies before work starts.

2. Disconnect the exhaust duct

As needed and where safely accessible, we move the dryer and disconnect the exhaust duct. Every installation is different, so the access method varies. This is the vent connection, not the dryer's electrical or gas service. We also take a starting airflow reading.

3. Camera inspection

We inspect accessible portions of the vent with a camera and explain any access limitations. Camera inspection is included with paid cleaning.

4. Cleaning

We clean the vent with brush and vacuum tools and inspect the exterior termination where it can be reached safely. Roof exits depend on safe access, weather, and roof conditions.

5. Reconnect, measure, and review

We reconnect the exhaust duct, run the dryer to check that it operates, measure airflow again, and review the before-and-after readings and findings with you. The operation check confirms the dryer runs after reconnection; it is not a full appliance inspection. If something needs repair, we explain it and quote it separately. Nothing extra is done without your approval.

When a job cannot be fully completed

Blocked access, damaged ducting, or unsafe conditions can limit what we can finish on a visit. If that happens, we will discuss it with you and explain the options.

How long it takes

Most visits are estimated at 45 to 75 minutes; this is an estimate, not a guarantee. Access, vent length, and vent condition can make a visit shorter or longer.

How to prepare

  • Clear a path to the dryer.
  • Tell us if the vent exits through the roof or a hard-to-reach spot.
  • Let us know about pets so we can keep doors closed.
